In the 1950s and 60s a number of branch lines extended beyond the main suburban lines.

Using film shot by the Late Keith Atkinson we travel these branch lines including:
- Frankston to Stony Point.
- Camberwell to Alamein.
- Upper Ferntree Gully to Belgrave.
-  Lilydale to Healesville and Lilydale to  Warburton.
