This book is not just about the Midland Railway - but includes the Great Central, Great Northern - and the Achilles heel - the Glenfield Tunnel. Leicester was surprisingly full of Railways. Now only the Midland is left - and it is somewhat curtailed by the Beeching Axe. Still the photos are excellent and shew Leicester as it was 'back-in-the-days' of Steam. Interesting to see Leicester London Road Station as it was with the over-all glass roof!
