The V-Set Double Deck Inter-Urban is a class of electric multiple unit delivered over a 19-year period from 1970. At the time, these trains were described as the “most luxurious commuter stock in the world”. These stainless steel double-deck trains operate on the Interurban lines of the NSW TrainLink network, serving the Blue Mountains and the Central Coast to Newcastle. A total of 246 units were built, being delivered in four batches (1970, 1977, 1981, 1989) to NSWGR and later to the State Rail Authority.
